Eddie Rhodes grew up in a loving home with both parents and a younger brother. As a teenager, he was consumed with drugs, alcohol and himself. His philosophy on life was to earn lots of money and then donate it to charities so that he could make his mark on this world.
Fortunately, God had other plans for Eddie. He would certainly use him to make a mark on this world, but not through philanthropy! At the age of 19, Eddie was invited to a college & career retreat by some high school friends who had recently accepted Christ. He saw first hand the difference Jesus could make and he wanted what they had. The next day, August 27, 1989, Eddie attended First Baptist Woodstock (FBCW) where he met the Lord Jesus Christ and his life was eternally changed.
Several years after becoming a believer, Eddie felt the call of God on his life to preach the Gospel. He wrestled with this call for several years but finally in 1992 surrendered and began his preparation. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Theology from the Baptist College of Florida in Graceville, FL. Next, he spent one year in the mentoring program with Dr. Johnny Hunt back at FBCW. He then earned a Masters of Divinity from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, NC. He is currently in the process of pursing a Doctorate of Ministry.
Through the years, Eddie has served as a youth intern, evangelism intern, youth pastor, senior pastor, campus pastor, preaching professor and evangelist. He has a strong passion for the Word of God. God is clearly using him to reach lost people and also to challenge and encourage believers to pursue the plan of God for their lives by loving God, loving others and serving Jesus. His goal is to impact, influence and infect this world for the Son of God.
Eddie is married to Missy and they are raising three Godly young men; Taylor, Chandler and Parker. He desires to live a life of integrity and be a Godly example for them so that, according to Proverbs 20:7, they would be blessed after him.
